The Articipation Creative For All project is making good progress. The first day of the fashion illustration master class was highly productive, marking a great beginning for the initiative.
The main goal of this project is to bridge the gaps in the creative industry of The Gambia. It aims to offer opportunities for young women who aspire to enter the fashion industry by teaching them crucial skills that are necessary for a designer or tailor. Unfortunately, The Gambia does not currently have an art school that can prepare students for this sector. Therefore, the project's vision is to help aspiring designers and tailors learn the relevant industry skills required to compete in the fashion world or prepare them for entry-level fashion design schools that usually require a foundation in art.
The master class modules will cover the basics of fashion illustration, including body proportions, design elements and principles, figure templates, colour theory, flats, and more. By combining these skills with their tailoring abilities, the students will be well-equipped to thrive in the competitive international market.
